Theft leaves Kilkenny pensioner without dinner as community rally to support

A Kilkenny pensioner was left unable to cook her dinner following a theft in the Castlecomer area earlier this week.

Two gas cylinders were robbed from the Smithstown area on Wednesday night leaving the local woman in a pickle.

However, in a great show of community support, staff from a local supermarket delivered a gas cylinder on Friday.

"Shocking what’s going on locally," local independent, Cllr Maurice Shortall commented.

"Report anything suspicious to local gardaí and look after your neighbors," he added.
