The Shamrocks confirmed that TJ Reid had been nominated as Kilkenny senior hurling captain for the 2026 season last week, with Darragh Corcoran nominated as vice-captain.
"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both men and wish them the very best for the year ahead in black and amber," a spokesperson for the Shamrocks said.
Both players are expected to play a significant role this year with Kilkenny beginning their Allianz League campaign on Sunday, January 25 at home to Offaly following the completion of the Walsh Shield competiton this weekend.

Meanwhile, Dicksboro's Caoimhe Dowling was appointed captain of the Kilkenny senior camogie team.
"I feel extremely privileged to be captain of a team with such a dedicated and hard working group of players and management," Dowling commented.
"I want us to represent the Kilkenny jersey with pride," she added.
