KIlkenny captain TJ Reid
Kilkenny forward TJ Reid has revealed staying 'grounded' has been key to his longevity in a black and amber jersey.
Reid was named Kilkenny senior hurling captain for the third time earlier this month, having previously served in the role in 2010 and 2019.
Now at 38 years of age, the Shamrocks stalwart has seven All-Ireland medals to his name but even 11 years after his last, TJ is still as hungry as ever.

"I live day to day and I keep myself grounded," Reid told the Kilkenny Cats Social Podcast.
"You have to be (grounded) and if you want longevity you have to look after yourself and indulge when things are there for you and the opportunities are there for you to enjoy yourself.
"It (his lifestyle) adds on to my fitness business as well, I have a huge passion for health and fitness and mentoring people as well. What I preach I live in day to day life as well. It helps when you love it, for me I love the day to day stuff. I love the training in November and December when people hate it," he continued.
"I love going out myself, even going for walks and being in my own headspace but the most important thing is that you have to love it. You don't play the game unless you love it."
