UPDATED AT 10.30PM:
Gardaí have confirmed to Kilkenny Live that an adult male, aged in his 40s, is receiving treatment for 'serious injuries' at St. Luke’s General Hospital.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision on John Street Lower in the city centre shortly after 2pm on Wednesday afternoon.
"The collision involved a motor vehicle and a mobility device," gardaí confirmed in a statement.
Investigations are ongoing.

EARLIER REPORT: An Garda Síochana in Kilkenny have responded to a collision on John Street in the city centre.
Kilkenny Live understands a pedestrian was knocked down shortly before 2pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
The person has since been brought to St Luke's Hospital for treatment.
Drivers are being asked to use alternative routes, while the city bus service is utilising St Francis Bridge.
