'A true gentleman' - Kilkenny school says tearful goodbye to retiring teacher

Well wishes and congratulatory messages have been shared far and wide for Ger Buckley who retired as a teacher in St Kieran's College after 33 years of service on Friday.

"A brilliant Technology teacher, a friend and mentor to both students and colleagues and above all, a true gentleman!," a school spokesperson said.

"We will miss you Ger and we are grateful for over 30 years of service that you have given to so many in our school community.

"We wish you all the best for your retirement," they added.
