RIP: Kilkenny parish bids sorrowful farewell to 'well-respected woman'

RIP

The Stoney Road, Loon has lost one of its more senior and respected women with the death of Nancy Nolan (nee Wallace).

In her 94th year, she was a quiet, kind, reserved and well-respected woman. She was the heart of her home on the Stoney Road where the kettle was always on the go. Nancy lived a simple and well-lived long life. Family meant the world to her and she took great interest in the careers of her grandchildren.

An avid reader of both newspapers and magazines she also was a keen gardener taking care of the flowers from bud to blossom. Nancy never sought the limelight but was always there whenever the need arose. She leaves a wonderful legacy of a life of sharing and caring for her family, friends and neighbours.

Celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Clogh by Fr Tom Corcoran, Nancy was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Predeceased by her husband Terry, parents Dick and Mary, sisters Mary (Wallace) and Statia (O'Donnell).

Nancy will be sadly missed by her son Richie ; daughter-in-law Linda ; grandchildren Gary, Ciara, and Susan ; nieces Mary and Helen O'Donnell ; nephews Eddie and Christopher O'Donnell ; extended family, other relatives and a wide circle of friends.
