Tens of thousands are expected to descend on Kilkenny City for a bumper St Patrick’s Day parade tomorrow afternoon.

Beginning at 1.30pm and finishing around an hour later, the parade will commence from John St. with the start line around John’s Priory.

It will then proceed over John’s Bridge, before taking a right on to Bateman Quay near Dunnes Stores; spectators won’t be allowed to stand on the bridge.

The parade will then head left up High St, continuing on to The Parade Plaza before finishing on the Castle Road.

Conditions on the day are expected to be clear but given how changeable the weather has been in recent weeks, parade-goers should still be prepared for light showers.

A festival grandstand is being constructed for the first time with some tickets still available at €35 per seat with an optional post-parade reception at Butler House available for an additional €20.

A wheelchair accessible will be located in front of the Review Stand beside the Left Bank. Pre-booking on the stpatricksfestivalkilkenny.com website is required for entry.
