Pictures: St Patrick's festival Fire and Drum show lights up home of Kilkenny GAA

The spectacle took place at UPMC Nowlan Park

On the eve of St Patrick's Day, Lá Fhéile Pádraig, families and friends gathered le chéile at UPMC Nowlan Park for a Fire and Drum Spectacular sharing in a night where tradition met spectacle.

As dusk fell over the famous home of Kilkenny hurling, MC Aisling MacDonald for The St Patrick's Festival Kilkenny event, explained: "The stadium transforms into a glowing stage of story, rhythm, music and fire echoing ancient traditions that have brought communities together for generations."

The night began with an energetic acoustic set from Jeremy Hickey. Next, Pyro Collective took over the pitch with a breath taking fire show, lighting up the night with flames twirling and daring acrobatics.

The festival continues today with the Grand Parade starting at 1.30pm followed by entertainment in Parade Plaza with Jeremy Fish and more.
