Supporters of local hurling and camogie have been in high spirits over the past week following the announcement of the engagement of a prominent Kilkenny hurler and camogie player.
Kilkenny camogie star Laura Greene and former senior hurler Shane Walsh announced the exciting news to their thousands of Instagram followers earlier this month.
Greene is an integral part of the Kilkenny camogie team, commanding the midfield position with class and gile. The O'Loughlin Gaels clubwoman also played a key role with the Muckalee footballers in their historic run to the AIB All-Ireland junior title.
Meanwhile, Walsh, a brother to multiple All-Ireland winners Tommy, Grace and Padraig, has also worn the black and amber with pride, but is arguably better known for his exploits in a Tullaroan jersey.

Followers were quick to wish the happy couple the very best.
One wrote, "Eeeeeeeeeek, what a buzz," while another added, "ahhh congrats kiddos."
We wish the pair a lifetime of happiness together.
