This April, Music Network proudly presents the Irish debut of internationally acclaimed chamber music ensemble Trio Bohémo to Thomastown on April 12 as part of a nationwide tour.
In just five years, Trio Bohémo has emerged as a major force on the international chamber music
scene.
Comprised of Jan Vojtek (piano), Matouš Pěruška (violin) and Kristina Vocetková (cello), the Czech ensemble is renowned for its dynamic and emotionally charged performances.
The trio has appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Vienna Musikverein, Dvořák’s Hall at the Rudolfinum in Prague, Wigmore Hall in London, and Stoller Hall in
Manchester, as well as major festivals such as Prague Spring Festival, Schwarzwald Musikfestival,
Chamonix Vallée Classics Festival, and Gent Festival van Vlaanderen.
The trio has also toured extensively throughout Europe, Australia and the United States, building
an international reputation for performances that combine sensitivity, energy and technical
precision.
Trio Bohémo has received numerous prestigious awards, including First Prize and the Audience
Prize at the International Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna, the International Parkhouse
Award in London, and the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria. They are also prize winners of the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and the International Joseph Joachim Competition in Germany.

In 2024, the trio released their debut album on the Supraphon label, featuring works by Smetana
and Schubert. The recording won Debut Album of the Year at the Presto Music Awards, was
selected as The Guardian’s Classical Album of the Week, and received a five-star review from BBC
Music Magazine. The trio are also regular guests on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune.
Trio Bohémo will perform a beautiful programme featuring Schubert’s serenely lyrical Notturno in
E-flat major, alongside inspirational and dramatic works by Ravel, Beethoven and Irish composer
Amanda Feery. As part of the tour, audiences in Louth and Kerry will also experience The
Unconquerable Soul, a powerful new large-scale work by Irish composer Rhona Clarke.
Commissioned by Music Network in collaboration with Music Generation to celebrate Music
Network’s 40th anniversary, the work honours the long-standing relationship between the two
organisations.
Rhona Clarke was one of the first composers commissioned by Music Network in 1995, making her
involvement in this anniversary project especially fitting. The three-movement composition is
inspired by poems reflecting on hope as an enduring force in human life.
Written for a rarely heard combination of piano trio, choir and string ensemble, Trio Bohémo will
perform the work alongside Music Generation youth string ensembles and adult choirs from Kerry
and Louth, creating a unique collaboration between internationally renowned performers and
musicians from local communities.
Trio Bohémo’s tour with Music Network offers Irish audiences a rare opportunity to hear one of the
most exciting young chamber music ensembles performing today as they make their long awaited
Irish debut.
Trio Bohémo will perform at Thomastown Concert Hall on April 12.
