Kilkenny man seeks urgent help after 12-year health struggle via GoFundMe

A Kilkenny family is fundraising for a much-loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, colleague and friend, Tommy Griffin who was diagnosed with melanoma in 2014.

Tommy, originally from Glenmore and now residing in Maynooth, has spent the past 12 years bravely fighting this illness but sadly his condition has recently deteriorated.

Tommy is married to Linda, and together they have four young children together.

"Anyone who knows Tommy knows his strength, kindness, humour, and the love he has for his family, friends and his community," a GoFundMe page in aid of his treatment read. - CLICK HERE TO DONATE

"After extensive research, Tommy has found a lifesaving treatment option in Germany. This is the only viable path forward, but it is not available in Ireland and not covered by medical insurance.

"The cost of treatment, travel, accommodation, and associated medical expenses is expected to be €110,00, far beyond what any family could shoulder alone," the post continued.

"Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Tommy’s urgent treatment in Germany. If more funds are raised than needed, the surplus will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society to help other families facing similar battles." - CLICK HERE TO DONATE
