Scammers are purporting to be from An Garda Síochana and AIB

'Don't engage' - scammers posing as gardaí targeting Kilkenny people

An Garda Síochana in Kilkenny are warning the public not to engage with a vicious impersonation scam prevalent at the moment. 

"Calls to people pretending to be Gardaí and others purporting to be from AIB. Requesting that people use the keypad on their phone to input their card CVC," a garda post online read.

"Apparently speaking with them in what is described as a 'Refined Dublin Accent'.

"These are scams, don't engage. Phone your local Garda Station in Kilkenny 056 777000 or Thomastown 056 7754150 to report," the post added.
