Public stunned as driver smashes speed limit on busy Kilkenny road

Locals have been left stunned after a driver clocked a whopping 186 km/h in County Kilkenny on Tuesday afternoon.

An Garda Síochana pulled over the reckless driver on the M9 at Danesfort where the speed limit stands at 120 km/h.

The driver will face court for dangerous driving, a garda spokesperson confirmed online.

"186 kmh or 115mph in old money. Whatever your currency, that is not an acceptable speed," they added.

"Driving a new Golf, the courts will decide if playing Golf is a more suitable pastime than Driving for the culprit."
