'The Beauty Bar' (located in Callan, County Kilkenny) has announced that it will be closing on April 30 - a decision that the business owner confirmed was made with a 'heavy heart'.

It is another blow to the business community in Callan following the announcement that Yum Yum Chinese Restaurant is also closing.

The Beauty Bar has become a fixture on Green Street and has drawn huge praise from customers over the years, building a loyal base of clients in the locality.

"To all my lovely clients it is with a heavy heart I announce the closure of The Beauty Bar," owner Michelle posted on social media.

"I want to thank everyone for their continued support and friendship over the last nearly eight years in business.

"I have been contacting people with future appointments individually over the past few weeks. If I haven’t got to you yet my apologies. I will be contacting you ASAP.

"I hope to see you before I close on April 30. Love & Gratitude, Michelle"

Reacting to the announcement, one follower replied: "So sorry to hear this news Michelle, you will be greatly missed from Callan. The very best of luck for the future."
