An AI-generated poster has been shared on social media about a planned protest in Kilkenny on April 18
Gardaí in Kilkenny have informed the public that they suspect content circulating about an impending 'blockade' in Kilkenny is 'suspected to be bogus'.
Of particular interest is an AI-generated poster doing the rounds on social media, indicating that a 'blockade' of the M9 at Danesfort is planned for Saturday, April 18 starting at '7.30am until late'.
Gardaí have taken to social media themselves to address the content: "Throughout the past week, we have had constant contact with local groups surrounding the recent protests.

"They have no knowledge of this content which is presumably from a source intent on causing issues. This is suspected to be bogus."

Philip Ireland Tyres Limited, who took part in the recent protests on the M9 in Kilkenny, also shared a picture of the poster and issued a statement that said that 'FCI agricultural contractors, road haulage or anyone else that was involved in the peaceful protest on the M9 Danesfort last week have nothing to do with this'.
That post is no longer available to view on social media, but another post has been shared by the business with the same image posted by local gardaí.
