The Kilkenny team to take on Galway in the opening round of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship has been named.

Mikey Butler returns to the team following a period on the sideline with illness, while Dicksboro's Liam Moore makes his championship debut in a black and amber jersey.

Derek Lyng’s team are looking to win a seventh provincial crown on the trot and a fourth in Lyng's tenure.

On the back of an 18 point victory over the Cats during the Division 1 league campaign, Galway go into the provincial campaign on a high with the Cats keen to rewrite that wrong in Salthill on Saturday evening when the ball is thrown in at 4.30pm.
