Kilkenny driver breaking the law for four years gets their comeuppance

A local driver who owned a vehicle that had failed its NCT annually for the past four years was left 'quite surprised' when the car they were driving was seized on Saturday.

"One city centre motorist was quite surprised when he was stopped the other day by one of our RPU lads," Kilkenny gardaí posted to social media.

"The driver had been faithfully submitting his car for NCT each year and every year, getting a fail sheet but never a retest.

"This situation had been going on since 2022! and when stopped had another fail sheet, with most items not addressed," they continued.

"With a test over 1,535 days out an FCPN was issued for No NCT and another for an unaccompanied learner driver. The vehicle was also seized," the post concluded.
