ALERT: 'Urgent' works by ESB leave Kilkenny City households without power

A Kilkenny residential area is without power for much of today (Wednesday) due to 'urgent' works by ESB Networks beginning at 9.30am this morning.

Households in St Fiacre's Place and its surrounds are being impacted with an estimated restoration time of 4.30pm.

"We regret that, in order to carry out urgent work in your area, it will be necessary to interrupt your supply of electricity," a letter to households read.

"You should regard the connection to your house as being live during all outages as electricity supply may be restored at any time, sometimes for brief periods, while work is being carried out," the letter added.
