Fonsie Mealy Auctioneers will host a three-day fine art and antique sale at its auction rooms on Chatsworth Street, Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, from April 29 to May 1, 2026.
The Chatsworth Fine Art & Antique Sale will begin at 11am each day and will feature a total of 1,335 lots across three sessions.
Day one will include lots 1 to 406, followed by lots 407 to 899 on day two, and lots 900 to 1,335 on the final day.

Among the items included in the sale are contents from Clonbrock House in Galway, items formerly at Castletown House in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, and pieces from other private collections and stately homes.
The catalogue features a wide range of material including fine art, antique furniture, silverware, jewellery, coins and collectibles.
Notable lots include an important Georgian period silver wine cooler with crest and motto, estimated at €3,000 to €4,000, and a set of 18th-century English silver plates with a guide price of €5,000 to €7,000.

Also included is a rare famine-era gold presentation medal dating to 1846, with an estimate of €7,000 to €9,000.
Other items of interest include Georgian and Victorian silverware, antique Irish bog oak carvings, including models of round towers and harps, and a range of jewellery pieces featuring diamonds, sapphires and emeralds.
The sale also includes decorative objects, vintage advertising signs, watches, coins and whiskey, along with furniture and collectibles spanning several centuries.
Viewing will take place at the Castlecomer auction rooms on Sunday, April 26 from 1.30pm to 5pm, and on Monday and Tuesday, April 27 and 28 from 10am to 5pm.

Bidding will be available in person, online, by telephone and via absentee bids, with online platforms including the auctioneer’s own website and Easyliveauction.com.
All purchased items must be paid for and collected by 5pm on Friday, May 8, 2026.
