Minister Malcolm Noonan TD has welcomed the decision of Kilkenny County Council to grant planning permission to Abbott Laboratories Ireland for the construction of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the IDA Business & Technology Park, Ring Road, Loughboy, Kilkenny.
“I warmly welcome today’s decision by Kilkenny County Council to grant planning permission to Abbott Laboratories to build this facility in Kilkenny City,” he said.
“It gives certainty to Abbott to proceed with their development plans and delivers a much-needed investment boost for the city.
“Along with the news of new state-of-the art offices for State Street, I see today’s announcement as a strong vote of confidence in Kilkenny as a centre for investment, with a talented pool of people and now a university in the region to support further economic development, innovation and research.
“I believe that this new manufacturing facility will be a boon to our city for many years to come.”
