Georgina Brady (née Murphy)

The death has occurred of Georgina Brady (née Murphy), Kilree, Bennettsbridge, Kilkenny, on 5th February 2022, peacefully at her home and in the presence of her family, Georgina, predeceased by her infant daughter Amanda Jane and her brother Lar, beloved wife of Billy and much loved mother of Olwen, Trevor and Niall, sadly missed by her husband and family, granddaughters Jenna, Evie, Alice and Anna, daughters-in-law Caroline and Liz, sister Helen, brothers Edward, Tony, Stephen, Niall and Derek, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncle, nephews and nieces, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Requiem Mass for Georgina will be celebrated on Tuesday (8th February) at 11am in St. Bennett's Church, Bennettsbridge. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John Croke

The death has occurred of John Croke, Mill Street, Callan, Kilkenny, peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, 5th February 2022. Pre-deceased by his parents, Edward and Anastasia, his brother Eamon and his sister Margaret. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing family, his brother Tom, sisters, Sr. Marie Therese (Alice), Ellen, Mary and Annie, brother-in-law Fred, sister-in-law Susan, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan on Monday, 7th February from 3pm. Funeral prayers at 6.15pm followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Callan arriving at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am with burial afterwards in Kilbride Cemetery, Callan.

Ann Healy (née O'Connell)

The death has occurred of Ann Healy (née O'Connell), Tower Road, Piltown, Kilkenny, peacefully, in the exceptional care of the staff of Haywood Lodge, Clonmel, on February 5th 2022. Predeceased by her husband John and brothers Paddy and Matt. Deeply missed by her sons Angus, Brian, Dave and daughter Bairbre, daughters in law Melissa, Fideles, Molly and son in law Ed, her 11 grandchildren in USA and Piltown, sisters Noeleen and Rose and brother Ted.

Patrick (Pakie) Holohan

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pakie) Holohan, Grove, Cuffesgrange, Kilkenny, peacefully, in his 80th year, at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin on Saturday 5th February 2022. Pre-deceased by his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth, his daughter Mary, who died in infancy, and his sister Biddy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Eileen, children Anne, Tina, Bernadette, Jacqueline, PJ, Pixie, Regina, John and David, his 25 grandchildren, his 10 great-grandchildren, brothers Jackie and Oliver, his sisters Marie and Betty, sons-in-law Michael, Paul, Denis, Derek, Terry and Pat, daughters-in-law Moira, Sue and Marie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan on Tuesday, 8th February from 4pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral prayers on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm followed by removal to The Church of the Holy Cross, Cuffesgrange, (Eircode R95 ED61) for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Michael Hurley

The death has occurred of Michael Hurley, Ballycarron, Threecastles, Kilkenny, at his residence. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, sons Liam and John, grandchildren Megan, Michael, Jack, Aaron, Darragh, daughters-in-law Niamh and Valerie, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Kennedy's Funeral Home, Freshford, on Monday evening from 7pm with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday in Jenkinstown Church at 3pm. Eamonn Kelly

The death has occurred of Eamonn Kelly, Kilkenny Street, Castlecomer, Kilkenny / Freshford, Kilkenny. Husband of the late Sally. In the loving care of Bernadette and the staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home Ballyragget. Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Mary and Catherine, sons Walter and Tommy, grandchildren Eamonn and Oisin, son-in-law Michael, daughter-in-law Catherine, Mary's partner Kevin, brother Tommy, sisters Maureen, Kitty, Philomena, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence in Castlecomer on Monday from 3pm with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday in Castlecomer Church at 12pm, burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Alice O'Byrne (née White)

The death has occurred of Alice O'Byrne (née White), Clóneen, Cashel Avenue, Cashel Downs, Kilkenny and formerly of Aughrim, Co. Wicklow, 4th February 2022, in the devoted and exceptional care of the staff at Gowran Abbey Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Edward and much loved mother of Loman, Dervilla, Darina, Aideen and Fanchea, sadly missed by her loving family, daughter-in-law Dorothy, sons-in-law John, Fred and Mark, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home on Monday (7th February) from 5pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.30pm followed by removal to St. Fiacre's Church, Loughboy. Requiem Mass on Tuesday afternoon at 1pm. Funeral afterwards to Durrow Cemetery, Co. Laois. Family flowers only please.

 Mary (Maeve) Doherty (née Nolan)

The death has occurred of Mary (Maeve) Doherty (née Nolan), Main Street, Piltown, Kilkenny. Deeply regretted by her loving sons John and Stephen, daughters in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral took place at St Nicholas' Church, Carrick on Suir, on Sunday, the 6th February, followed by burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Carrick on Suir.

Carmel Downey (née Kelly)

The death has occurred of Carmel Downey (née Kelly), Lisdowney, Kilkenny, peacefully at her son Shay’s residence surrounded by her family. Loving mother to Liam, Shay, Michael, Marina and Eithne. Predeceased by her husband Pete and sister Maureen. Deeply regretted by her loving children, sisters Nell, Kathleen, Sheila and Ann, brothers-in-law, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren Holly, Caoimhe, Luke, Kady, Aisling, Regan and Macy, nieces, nephews, relatives, great neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her son Shay’s residence, Knockmannon, Lisdowney. Removal on Monday morning to Saint Brigid’s Church, Lisdowney for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Offers of condolence can be made below. Please observe government Covid guidelines and observe social distancing at all times.

Gary Parkinson

The death has occurred of Gary Parkinson, Gowran, Co Kilkenny and formerly of Crossgar, Co Down, 3rd February 2022, peacefully at hospital. Dearly beloved husband of Sylvia, loving father of Sophie, brother of Julie and brother-in-law of Hugh, William and Lillian, uncle of Emma and Claire.

Funeral service will take place on Tuesday (February 8th) in Dardistown Crematorium, Dublin at 2pm https://www.dctrust.ie/location/dardistown/dardistown-chapel-webstreaming.html

 

Michael (Mickie) Rigby

The death has occurred of Michael (Mickie) Rigby, Ballyconnaught, Tullogher, Kilkenny, on 4th February 2022. Michael (Mickie), loving husband of Eily, father of Ann-Marie and PJ. Deeply regretted by loving family daughter-in-law Madeline, Ann-Marie's partner Alan, grandchildren Becky, Shelly, Chloe, Caithlin, Dylan, Carter, Corey, PJ and Skylar, sister Stasia, nephews Con and James (his wife) Helen, niece Mary, relatives, neighbours and many close friends.

Requiem Mass will take place at St. Aidan's Church, Tullogher at 11.30am on Monday, 7th February with burial afterwards Mullinarrigle (Listerlin) Cemetery.
