Kilkenny gardaí intercepted a vehicle on the Callan Road in Kilkenny City yesterday following reports of a courier 'driving erratically'.
After stopping the vehicle, members of the Roads Policing Unit conducted a road side drugs oral fluid test on the driver.
A positive result for cocaine was identified on the road side test (see below).

The driver was subsequently arrested and a further sample was taken back at the station.
Analysis on the second sample is to follow and gardaí have stated that 'a career change will be mandated on successful prosecution'.
