Buyer sought for well-known house and site on outskirts of Kilkenny City

Well-known house on outskirts of Kilkenny City going to auction

Hebron House, Blanchfieldsland, Kilkenny

Located off Hebron Ring Road, Hebron House, a once-elegant farmhouse now lying derelict on the outskirts of the city, is set to be sold alongside c.40acres of business-zoned land.

Recently listed on the property market by Cillin Hill Auctioneers, the property is sure to attract a lot of attention.

The subject site comprises a square tillage field which is relatively flat and extends to approximately 40 acres, located just off the N10 to M9 motor way north-east of the city.

The southern section of the site is occupied by Hebron House (c.2250 sq ft) - a derelict detached five-bay two storey residence built in late 1700s.

Hebron House is listed as a protected structure situated amongst a walled-in orchard and long-standing mature trees.

The surrounding site however is open to business development to industries including retail warehousing, lighting, offices, car showrooms, hotel(s), restaurant(s), conference facilities, enterprise centre(s), science and technology-based industry, medical industry and much more.

According to the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage the House 'has historic connections with George Cronyn (1775-1832); Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Jones (Lewis 1837 II, 114); and the Murphy family including Michael Murphy (d. 1880)'.

Running through the site is the Pococke River, a tributary of the River Nore.

An asking price for the site is not specified but further details can be found HERE.
