Left shop in Laois without paying for materials

A woman appeared in court accused of assaulting another woman in a Homebase car park in Portlaoise.

Iwona Paczuszko, 38, of 1 Kilminchy Avenue, Dublin Road, Portlaoise is charged with assaulting a woman in the Homebase car park in Portlaoise on July 4 last.

Sergeant JJ Kirby said it would be alleged that she pulled another lady to the ground and kicked her in the face causing harm.

“That’s not what happened,” the defendant said unprompted.

Sgt Kirby told Judge Andrew Cody that he has been informed that the injuries suffered in the incident weren’t serious.

Again unprompted, the defendant said, “such a lie”.

“You better zip it,” Judge Cody advised the accused.

He ordered disclosure of all evidence including CCTV footage and adjourned the case to March 23 for a plea or date for hearing.
