The Laois Camogie team will take on Meath on Saturday in the opening round of Division 2A of the Very Camogie Leagues. The game will take place in St.Fintan's GAA, Mountrath.
The girls come into this year's league off the back of a disappointing 2022. They were relegated from the Intermediate grade having lost to Kildare by four points. They will play their trade in the Premier Junior All-Ireland this coming season.
In terms of the league, Laois are placed in Division 2A alongside Cavan, Derry, Kerry, Meath and Westmeath. This year sees a change to the format as previously Division 2 consisted of 13 teams, divided into one group of five and two groups of four. The top two in each group would qualify for the quarter-finals, with two teams getting a bye to the semi-finals,
This year's format consists of two separate Divisions; 2A and 2B. The top two in each division play each other in the final, while the bottom-placed team gets relegated.

As well as that, the Laois Minor Camogie team travel to Wexford on Sunday to compete in the Leinster Minor B Championship Semi-Final. This game throws in at 2pm and is in Shelmaliers GAA Club.
