Laois teams set for bumper weekend of GAA action
This weekend will see no more than five Laois teams in competitive GAA action. The Laois senior footballers, camogie, U-20 footballers, ladies and minor camogie team are all set to do battle.
Billy Sheehan takes his Laois side to Netwatch Cullen Park to take on Carlow in Round 3 of the Allianz Football Leagues. Laois are hopeful of winning their third successive game in this year's competition.
The Laois U-20 footballers are at home to Roscommon in the John Kerins Cup. This game takes place in the LOETB Centre of Excellence. They travelled to Páirc Uí Chaoimh last weekend to face Cork with the game ending in a draw, 1-11 apiece.
Meanwhile, the Laois ladies football team travel to the Premier County to face Tipperary in Division 2 of the Lidl National Football Leagues. Laois come into the game having defeated Tyrone and Monaghan, while they were unable to overcome Westmeath in Round 2.
Laois Camogie are also set for a busy weekend as they have two important games. The first round of the Very Camogie Leagues start tomorrow with Meath being the opponents in St Fintan's GAA Mountrath at 2pm.
Finally, the Laois minor Camogie team face Wexford in a huge semi-final clash in the Leinster Minor B Camogie Championship. Laois defeated Carlow last weekend in the quarter-final.
