Laois Gardai discover multiple offences after stopping untaxed car

An alert for unpaid road tax led to Laois Gardai discovering multiple serious traffic offences.

Laois Roads Policing Unit uncovered the offences after their Automatic Number Plate Recognition(ANPR) system alerted them to an untaxed vehicle.

“Laois Roads Policing Unit out and about stopped a vehicle following an ANPR activation for no tax. Driver was also disqualified from driving. The vehicle had no insurance or NCT,” Gardai said.

“Driver failed road side drug test for cocaine and cannabis. Small quantity of drugs found in car,” Gardai added.
