Funeral details confirmed for Laois GAA hurler killed in Tipperary car crash

The late Adam Kirwan lived for hurling

Laois GAA has extended its deepest sympathies to the family, friends and teammates of the late Adam Kirwan, the young Trumera and Laois hurler who sadly lost his life in a car accident in the early hours of Thursday morning, March 3.

Adam, from Mountrath, hurled with the Laois minor team in 2018 and 2019 before making the step up to the U-20 grade, where he played for three years.

Chairperson of Laois GAA, PJ Kelly extended his sympathy to Adam's grieving parents, Lourda and Paul, and his beloved sister Marie.

"Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are also bestowed on Adam's family during the tragic and untimely passing of their son, brother and friend to many," he said.

Mr Kelly also said the GAA would provide help to those who played with Adam.

"Laois GAA are providing adequate supports to Adam's many Laois teammates currently involved in their respective U-20 and Senior panels here in Laois," he said.

"Beannacht Dè Ort," concluded the tribute.

Adam’s funeral will take place this weekend.
