Man in court over very serious assault in Laois

Portlaoise woman charged with violent disorder outside the court

A man appeared in court in relation to a “very serious assault” in Laois. 

Emmet Holohan, 37, with an address at 36 Kirwan Park, Mountmellick is charged with assault causing harm at College Avenue in Mountmellick on  February 16 last. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said it was allegedly “a very serious assault” and said gardai need time to investigate the incident. 

Judge Andrew Cody remanded the case back to Portlaoise District Court on March 16.
