Young Laois have made it to the judges table at this year’s Texaco Children’s Art Competition.

Following thousands of entries, students from Portlaoise are among those who are having their works evaluated as the judging process gets underway.

On of the judges, Dr Denise Ferran, was pictured admiring two of the entries received from Co. Laois this year – a work entitled ‘A Fairy's Garden’ by a pupil from Scoil Tighernach Naofa, Cullohill and another entitled ‘Michael D. Higgins’ by a pupil from Scoil Chríost Rí, Portlaoise.

Winners in the seven age categories, including one exclusively for artworks by young artists with special needs, will be announced in mid-April.
