A speed check
A Garda crackdown on speeding on the N80 resulted in a number of motorists being caught at the weekend.
One of the drivers caught speeding in an 80 kph zone was doing almost 50 kph above the speed limit.
“Laois Roads Policing conducting speed enforcement this morning on the N80 near Arles detected a number of vehicles travelling at excessive speeds in an 80km per hour zone,” Gardai said.
The motorists were issued with speeding fines.
