Gates to swing open to billionaire's Laois estate for big family fun day and run

Laois people are set to be given a chance to savour the delights of the Abbey Leix House and grounds when the at the Abbeyleix House and Farm Annual Family Day which returns again this summer.

And, the organisers say this year’s event, at the property owned by Stripe billionaire John Collison, promises to be even bigger and better.

A centrepiece of this year's day which the organisers believe will really give everyone will be a 5 km Run (or walk!) through the beautiful grounds at 11 am.

Another feature is the visit of the famous Gordon Bennett Run which will see lots of classic cars and their drivers from all around Ireland and beyond honour the estate with a visit!

But there is lots more besides including:

• Browse the many craft stalls
• Enjoy live music throughout the day
  Make a meal of it with food vendors to suit every taste
• Magicians, face painters and train rides for the little ones
• Circus show & sensory play area in the walled gardens
• Air Show (weather permitting) plus planes on the ground to view.
• Art exhibition in the Old Church
• Gardening tours of the walled gardens

There'll be a complimentary shuttle bus departing from The Manor Hotel R32VE24 & from Abbeyleix South NS R32PP79 as welll as onsite parking in paddocks also.

The event is open to all ages but all patrons must have a valid ticket including minors. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

The organisers promises that 100% of price of admission, raffle sales, and purchases of Abbey Leix House and Farm Kitchen produce will go directly to our Charity Partners:

• Abbeyleix & District Lions Club
• My Lovely Horse Rescue
• Local girls participating in the Wheelchair Soccer World Cup 

Admission costs as follows:

• Adults - €10 each
• Teenagers - €5 each
• Under-12s - Free
