"Preparations began a couple of weeks ago and continue apace as we prepare for this year's opening of Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool. We have plenty of washing and painting to complete and welcome any and all offers of help. We need old towels to help prep the big pool for painting. If you have any, please drop them down to the pool," the committee say.

The facility is run by a volunteer committee as part of Ballinakill Community Development Association.
The huge 29 metre pool iis the biggest in the county, and also has a toddler pool.
It is located in the pretty village near Abbeyleix, next to the famous Heywood Gardens and woodlands, a fishing lake, playground and carpark.
