Country music queen Louise Morrissey wants you to join her in Portlaoise for a wonderful celebration of her 35th anniversary in country music.
Louise is bringing her exciting show to the Midlands Park Hotel on Wednesday, June 14 as one of the venues in her sure to be sell-out Countrywide Tour to celebrate this amazing milestone in country music.
The multi-award-winning Tipperary artist is admired and respected as one of Ireland's greatest female singers and performers.
She grew up with a love of music and after her education, she began singing with her brothers, Billy and Norman as the 'Morrissey's Folk and Ballad Group' who went on to tour Ireland, the UK and the USA for many years until they decided to go their separate ways in 1987. Billy is married to Laois country music star Trudi Lalor.
Louise is known and much loved throughout Ireland, the UK and the US where she has entertained audiences and received numerous Awards and accolades including the prestigious European Country Music Gold Star Award. Throughout her career she has toured with country legends such as Charley Pride, Emmy-Lou Harris, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson to name but a few.
Louise is enjoying her year of celebration and will perform many of her much-loved songs such as Tipperary On My Mind, Flying Home To Aherlow, The Tear, September Sky, Circles, Katie Daly, All around my Hat and many more of her wonderful hits too numerous to mention.
Louise will be joined on the night in the Midlands Park Hotel by a star-studded lineup of friends such as the First Lady of Country Music Susan McCann who is certain to entertain with her wit and charm and her numerous hits such as Penny Arcade, Yellow Roses and Speed of the Sound of Loneliness, Sandy Kelly whose award-winning touching tribute to Patsy Cline has toured to high acclaim throughout the UK and Ireland and Sandy will also perform the beautiful Woodcarver, a hugely successful duet recorded with the late great Johnny Cash.
Longford’s Gentle Giant and great entertainer Mick Flavin will reminisce with his great hits Old School Yard, Wildflowers, and Home to Donegal.
The hugely successful Olivia Douglas will delight with her accordion and lively tunes with her huge hits such as Leaving Tipperary and I’m Off To Lisdoonvarna in the Morning.
The fantastic entertainer /singer/ comedian/ actor/ broadcaster extraordinaire Gary Gamble from Donegal will have the audience laughing in the aisles with his hugely popular Daniel O Double sketches.
Marty Daniels and great friend of Louise will get those feet tapping with all the great classics from Hank Williams and Buck Owens such as You Win Again and Stop The World. All artists will be backed by the extremely talented country Band Matrimony.
