Popular Portlaoise Main Street business closing down

A popular Portlaoise branch of a tattoo and piercing franchise is to close down.

Pierce of Ink Portlaoise in the Bridge Street Centre has announced it is closing down on September 1.

The shop asks customers holding vouchers to use them up before it closes.

"Hello Pierce of Ink family! Unfortunately, today's post is to announce we will be closing our portlaoise shop as of the 1st of September! If you have Vouchers that are still valid for our shop, now is the time to use them!
Until then, we are here for all your piercing and tattoo needs!"

The shop is part of the largest chain of tattoo shops in Ireland, with other branches in Newbridge, Carlow, Kilkenny and Dun Laoghaire.

They made their announcement on July 27. The shop had been open for just under four years, first opening in October 2019.
