It's been a rough July and August with lots of rain drenching a lot of fun so what's in store for the middle weekend of August?
To recap a little, Met Éireann said rainfall ranged from a third of normal to more than three times the average for the time of year over the past week. Leinster and Ulster counties endured the wettest days.
Average temperatures have been typical for early August but as for sunshine, the past week was slightly duller than average.
Well, the forecast from Met Éireann for the upcoming weekend and beyond could perhaps be summed up simply as - groundhog day.
While there's be sunny spells from Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 13, Met Éireann is also warning of showers, gusty winds, persistent rain, and even more flooding with temperatures not rising beyond the low 20s. There are no weather warnings in place.
As for next week Met Éireann has tentatively predicted a 'drier interlude'.
