Students from Mountrath and surrounds converged on the town's secondary school on Leaving Cert day to celebrate their results with staff.
The Principal Kathryn O’Brien was there to meet the young man and women who are set to open a new chapter of their lives.
She commented on what they have achieved.
"Students in Mountrath Community School (MCS) performed very strongly this year and I am delighted to say that there was a huge amount of H1s in almost every subject across the broad range of 20 subjects studied at LC level in MCS.
"It was a very proud day for us as a school as we see the culmination of the hard work that students have invested in their education, particularly over the last two years. We are very proud of the students' academic achievements but also of their attitude and approach to hard work.
"The Leaving Cert students of 2023 were a pleasure to work with, we will miss their comraderie and we wish each and every one of them all of the success that this bunch well and truly deserves," she said.
