Extra passing bays planned at the Slieve Blooms in Laois

€770,000 announced to develop Slieve Blooms for tourism

Wolfhill

Additional passing bays are being planned for Wolfhill.

Independent Cllr Ben Brennan tabled a motion asking “that Laois County Council install more passing bays in Crossard, Wolfhill and fill in the drain beside the chapel.”

Senior Executive Engineer, Philip McVeigh said “Laois County Council will arrange to meet with the Elected Member on site to review the scope of works required.”

Cllr Brennan told Mr McEvoy that there was no need to meet on site as they had met last year.

“Have you a short memory of what?” he asked.

“I am looking forward to that because it definitely has to be finished. The passing bays were started but they were never finished. There was six to go in and only two put in,” he said.

Cllr Brennan said he would look forward to meeting council staff at the location.

The motion, which was seconded by Independent Cllr Aisling Moran, was discussed at the latest meeting of Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District.
