A Laois native who has been surrounded by flowers her whole life, Emily is passionate about the Environment and Sustainability. She grows and dries her own flowers and grasses using no sprays or chemicals. This event was part of Laois PPN’s Climate Action Project 2023.

Emily warmly welcomed Laois PPN Members to the workshop. On entering Laois PPN Members were met with a beautiful large table display of individual settings of a boutique of dried flowers, seed heads, grasses and an assortment of evergreens. The smell of the evergreens provoked nostalgia, with memories and stories being shared during the workshop.

Majella Moore, Laois PPN Administrator said: “A fitting way to finish out the year for our Laois PPN Members, all give so much of their free time during the year to their Communities and County. An honor for me, to meet and spend time with Laois PPN Group Members. Attendees stated they enjoyed the vast knowledge Emily shared about growing and drying flowers and grasses and the creations that are made from them, while also being mindful as to how we can protect our environment and live sustainably.”

Attendees stated: “How lovely it was to be away from the hustle and bustle of life and in a creative capacity. Also, to bring their creation home to gift it or put it on display”. Emily said: “you all have the same items, and you all created your own unique wreaths, a lovely group of people to work with on my last workshop of the year”.

Emily provided homemade treats and hot drinks from her coffee hut.

Dan Bergin Laois PPN CO-Ordinator said: “The Christmas Wreaths with the Flower Witch workshop was a lovey final event for our Climate Action Project 2023. A special thank you to Emily for facilitating the workshop for our Community Groups. The ethos of the workshop was in perfect keeping with Laois PPNs Climate Action Project 2023, and was thoroughly enjoyed by attendees.
