The death has occurred of Eddie (Fisher) Doyle Aughanure, Ballylinan, R14 PW57 / Athy, Kildare on Saturday, February 17.  Fisher passed away suddenly in Portlaoise Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his daughter Donna, son-in-law Liam, parents Maureen & Jimmy, brother Liam and sister Mary. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, daughters Tracey, Karen, Louise and Ashling, grandchildren Shauna, Mikey, Rory, Mollie, Jamie, Daithi, Paudie, Davy and Jack, sons-in-law Michael, Barry and Neil, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at his residence (R14 PW57) from Tuesday (February 20th) with Rosary on Wednesday evening at 8pm. Removal on Thursday afternoon to arrive at St. Anne's Church, Ballylinan for Requiem Mass at 2.30pm. Burial afterwards in St. Anne's Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Irish Heart Foundation.

Noel Devoy-  Stradbally

The death has occurred of Noel Devoy, Kilmurry, Stradbally, R32 T6K3 on Saturday, February 17, 2024.  Noel passed away peacefully in the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise in his 91st year. Predeceased by his loving parents, Thomas and Margaret, his brothers TJ, Liam and Finn. Deeply regretted by his loving sister Eithne (Boyle), his nephew and niece Noel and Colette, brother in-law Denis, his grandnephew, grandnieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.May he rest in peace

Reposing at his home in Kilmurry, Stradbally R32T6k3 on Monday evening from 6.pm to 8pm, with recital of the Rosary at 8pm.

Removal on Tuesday morning at 11.30am to arrive at the Church of the Assumption, The Heath for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Which can be viewed on https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/the-heath-webcam/

Interment to follow in adjoining cemetery.

Martin Cuddy- Coolrain

The death has occurred of Martin Cuddy Derrynaseera, Coolrain, Portlaoise on February 17th 2024. (Suddenly) at his home.

Predeceased by his parents Julia and Jack, sister Sr. Bernadette, brother Sean.

Deeply regretted by his loving siblings, Mary (Woods), Michael, Margaret (Bergin), Ann (O'Connor), Philomena (Delaney) and Teresa, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Martin Rest In Peace.

Reposing in Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home Castletown, Eircode R32 TN84, this Wednesday evening (Feb. 21st.) from 5 pm pausing for prayers at 7 pm. Removal on Thursday morning (Feb. 22nd) to St. Fergal's Church Camross (Eircode R32 VY79) for Funeral Mass at 11 am. followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mattie Byrne - Mountrath

The death has occurred of Mattie Byrne Patrick Street, Mountrath.. Died 19th February 2024, unexpectedly at his home. Beloved husband of Ann, and father to Fergal, Barry and Matthew. Sadly missed by his loving family, grandchildren Niamh, Fianna, Kevin and Róisín, daughters-in-law Tina and Olivia, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Patrick Ryan - Crettyard

The death took place on Saturday, February 17 of Patrick (Paddy) Ryan, Carlow Road, Garrendenny, Crettyard, Carlow

At St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny.

Predeceased by his loving wife Maisie, parents Annie and John, sisters Mary, Bridie, Elizabeth, and Sarah, brothers Michael and William. Paddy will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Angela, brother John (Dysart, Castlecomer), nieces and nephews, wonderful carers, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposed in Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer (R95 AK38) on Sunday 18th February from 5pm concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Funeral cortege arriving at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo (R93 HY94) on Monday for Requiem Mass at 12 Noon. Paddy will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery.

Christina Lawlor - Mountmellick

The death took place on Friday, February 16 of Christina (Chrissie) Lawlor, Cloncosney, Mountmellick, February 16th, 2024. In the loving care of the staff at Ashley Lodge Nursing Home, age 98. Predeceased by her husband Owen, brothers John and Patrick, sisters May, Julia, Kathleen, Josie and Gabrielle, nieces and nephews.

Sadly missed by her loving son Michael (Sonny) and his wife Agnes, her daughter Margaret (Rita), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours, her life-long friend Nancy and her many other friends.

Reposed in Moloneys Funeral Home on Sunday from 5pm Recital of The Rosary at 7pm. Removal from Moloney’s Funeral Home on Monday morning at 10.15am to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick via her former family home in Irishtown arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St Joseph’s Cemetery.

Helen Byrne - Portlaoise

The death took place on Wednesday, February 14 of Helen Byrne (nee Harding) “St Martins” Ridge Rd., Portlaoise.

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband John, also her parents Jack and Annie, her sisters Frances, Patty and brother Sonny. Loving mother to John, Sharon, Ivan, Ian and Martin. Cherished grandmother to her fourteen grandchildren. Deeply regretted by her family, brothers P.J and Jimmy, sisters Phyllis McDonald and Lily Kelly, son in law Willie, daughters in law Joan, Celine, Orla and Gina, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and large circle of friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6.30 pm till 8 pm. Rosary will be recited at 7.30 pm. Removal on Saturday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery

Mary Kealey - Portlaoise

The death took place on Thursday, February 15 of  Mary Kealey (nee Tynan). Sheffield Cross, Portlaoise, Co.Laois.

Died at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her brother Dan and sister Kathleen. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Paddy. Daughters Mary and Caroline, sons Sonny, Martin and Brian, and their partners Sandra, Tracey and Jezette, sisters Lill and Lucy, brother Ned, sons-in law Michael and Eamon, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence (R32 D59O) on Friday from 3pm with recital of the rosary and 7pm. Removal on Saturday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise for 2pm requiem mass. Burial afterwards in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.

John Hennessy- Mountmellick

The death has occurred of John Hennessy, Davitt Road, Mountmellick on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Retired manager of Mountmellick Textile Factory. Died peacefully in Portlaoise Hospital. Predeceased by his beloved brother Noel, sister-in-law Aileen, and parents Paddy and Bridie. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, his children Michelle, Dermot, Paul and Aisling, their spouses Tony, Michelle, Victoria and Enda, grandchildren Daniel, Sinead, Sarah, Eilidh, David, Ronan, Oscar, Mia and Fae, brothers Pat and Oliver and wives Kathleen and Barbara, nieces and nephews, and by a wide circle of friends and relatives.
