Gardaí issue online shopping warning ahead of Mother's Day.

Gardaí in Laois have urged the public to remain vigilant when buying online ahead of Mother's Day this weekend. 


Many last minute shoppers will be turning to their phones or laptops to pick up something special for a loved one. Local gardaí have reminded shoppers 'if it's too good to be true it probably is'.

They have issued the following advice:

- Slow down, don't let urgency influence purchases
- Be suspicious of unsolicited messages or contacts 
- Be sure about the links you follow online
- Download from reliable sources
- Question offers
