Colaiste Iosagain Portarlington were edged out by Gorey CS in today's South-Leinster final which was played in Killeshin GAA. Ultan Dunne from O'Dempsey's was Colaiste Iosagain's top scorer as he fired over nine points but it proved to be in vain as Gorey won by three points in the end.
Dunne kicked the Portarlington school ahead as Gorey opened their account with points from Cian Keating, Kian Steadman and Odhran Morris.

Colaiste Iosagain 1-11

Colaiste Iosagain rattled the back of the net with five minutes on the clock as Sean Moran and Odhran O’Reilly were involved before Sean Michael Ward picked out Ben Stapleton and he finished to the net from close range. Gorey’s responded well as they regained the lead by the midpoint with scores from Alex Devereux and Alex Carton. Dunne swung the game back his side's way with a free and two points from play.

It would be the Wexford side that would lead at half-time as Ben Furlong and Steadman scored before Conor Fanning brought proceedings to an end – 0-8 to 1-4.

It didn't take long for Colaiste Iosagain to level the game as Sean Moran pointed when play resumed but then Gorey took over as they scored 1-2 without reply. Odhran Morris kicked his second and third points before Eoin Hughes set up Alex Devereux who smashed in a crucial goal.

Colaiste Iosagain remained composed and slowly dragged themselves back into the game. Paddy Murray pointed before Dunne raised three white flags back-to-back. A single point separated the sides with 10 minutes to play. Gorey's Morris took the pressure off his team as he raced forward to point.
Dunne replied with a free for his school but they couldn't add any more points to the scoreboard. Gorey ended the game with points from the boots of Cian Keating and Conor Fanning to claim the South Leinster crown.
