Part of the road in Kilminchy
Ramps must be fixed and potholes patched on one of the busiest roads in the big Kilminchy estate in Portlaoise, insists a Portlaoise public representative.
Cllr Thomasina Connell, Fine Gael, called for action from Laois County Council at a recent meeting with council officials in County Hall.
Cllr Connell tabled a motion asking for a stop sign at the junction on Lime Tree Avenue and carry out required repairs to the ramps where potholes have appeared and also have these repainted.
Wes Wilkinson, Senior Executive Engineer, replied in writing.
"The Portlaoise Municipal District office will examine this location at Lime Tree Avenue and will make arrangements to install signage to carry out maintenance and repairs as required," he said.
The issue was highlighted at the Portlaoise Municipal District's March meeting.
