A Garda stationed in Laois placed third in the annual Mr Personality Festival which took place in Tipperary over the weekend.
Mountmellick's Michéal Kiheeney represented the county at the festival which is now in its 17th year. It was organised by the Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme and took place from April 5 and 6 at The Talbot Hotel, Clonmel.
Michaél is 30 years old, originally from Galway who spent time living in Roscommon before becoming a member of the Garda Síochána and is now stationed in Laois.
He is an active member of Mountmellick Macra na Feirme and listed the Capers final in 2024 as one of his most memorable Macra moments.
Michaél had a jam-packed weekend with on-stage interviews, jiving lessons, and contestant challenges. The winner of Mr Personality 2024 was announced at a special banquet on Sunday night.
The overall winner was Mark Riordan, who represented Kerry and Stephen Murray, representing Monaghan came in second place.
