New Federation President from Mountmellick

New team leads the way for Laois ICA

The new Laois ICA Federation team elected at the Laois AGM.

The Laois ICA Federation AGM was hosted by Clough Guild in Ballacolla, where a new leadership team was elected for the next three years.

There are some well-known faces and some new members who have taken on important roles mainly Deirdre Dunne from Mountmellick and Aoife Kendellen from Killabban Guild.

The new Laois ICA Federation team is:

  • Vivienne Rigley Produce Officer,
  • Betty Gornan Vice President and Teachta,
  • Aoife Kendellen Federation Secretary from Killabban Guild,
  • Deirdre Dunne President from Mountmelliclk Guild,
  • Ann Dwyer Federation Treasurer,
  • Anna Mai Brennan Competition Secretary,
  • Anne Cass Vice President, 
  • Mary Dunne Arts and Crafts,
  • Anne Payne PRO,
  • Noreen Byrne International.

A cheque for the chosen charity of the year was presented to Teac Tom which has a Laois branch in Feeney Court, Stradbally. Caroline Devoy accepted a cheque for €1,200 collected from all the Laois Guilds. More below picture.

Teac Tom, supported by the Thomas Hayes Trust, provides mental health support and suicide intervention services in Laois. It is a free service to those in need. Angela Hayes, the founder was unable to attend as she was on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Caroline invited any of the ladies to visit the house on the Main Street of Stradbally to see the facility.
