Plans for classrooms and staff toilets at Main Street building

Plans lodged by Montessori in old Laois school

The application has been lodged by Sheila Conroy T/A Early Learning Montessori.

Plans have been lodged with Laois County Council by the operator of a montessori in Stradbally to change the use of the first floor of St. Mary's Old School, a protected structure.

A planning application has been submitted by Sheila Conroy who runs the Early Learning Montessori at the old school building on Main Street which she rents from the local parish priest.

Ms Conroy is seeking permission for a change of use of the first floor to a pre-school Montessori and associated site work. Drawings accompanying the application show plans for two classrooms and staff toilets.

The planning documents also include a letter from parish priest David Vard giving consent to the application at the site which is parish property.

A decision is due to be made by June 19, 2024.
