Walkability audit of Mountmellick to take place

A walkability audit of Mountmellick Town will take place next week.

Laois County Council in association with the National Town Centre First Office will carry out a walkability audit of Mountmellick Town next week.

The audit, taking place on Wednesday, May 22, will inform the Town Centre First Plan for Mountmellick for which Laois County Council recently got funding.

"We are looking for volunteers to assist with this audit which will take place for approximately one hour on the morning of the 22nd May," said a spokesperson for Age Friendly Laois.

"To get a good representation on the day, we would like to see various user groups represented - Older people; hearing/ visually impaired; wheelchair / walking aid users; parents with buggies.

"It would also be beneficial to include the views of other user groups- such as dementia, autism and more."

If you can take part on the day contact cguidera@laoiscoco.ie or drainey@laoiscoco.ie.
