Laois Gardai have seized five cars and discovered two drivers using false licences in recent days.
Gardaí revealed one of the drivers had forked out €700 on the internet for a fake licence.
“Laois Roads Policing Unit on patrols over the past few days have taken another five vehicles off the road for a variety of offences including Drug Driving, No Insurance and No tax with the help of the Garda Mobility App. Two drivers were also found in possession of fake driving licences which were seized. One of these drivers incredibly told us that they had paid €700 to obtain the licence online,” gardaí said in an online post.
Gardaí said court proceedings had commenced in relation to the matters.
