Cullohill's Folly Festival 2024 has come to a close, and what a festival it was.

Watch the video below of Saturday at the Folly Festival.

The second day of the festival saw musical performances punctuated by numerous daytime events for all ages, such as magic shows and a wide variety of games. Nancy’s yard saw the host of numerous family activities and non-stop entertainment.

The festival was enjoyable for all ages- from live cooking demonstrations from renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School and TV Chef Rory O’Connell, to the music from local artists and headliners.

There were stalls upon stalls of local artisans showcasing their foods and drinks, in the Laois Taste section of the festival.

There were market stalls of everything from t-shirts to trinkets, with long queues found at each stall front.

Local artist Marie Moylan held a live painting demo, which was flocked to by many. An exhibition from local artists could be found, with paintings of all colours and styles set up in the gallery tent.

The foodie programme kicked off on the Saturday morning with a mountain walk at 9:30am, and a midday foraging expedition from Wild Food Mary.

It wouldn’t be a rural Irish festival without a live screening of a match taking place simultaneously. The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final saw Kilkenny vs Clare broadcast to the big screen, once acts had finished preforming.

At 3pm, there was a fascinating panel discussion with Tanguy De Toulgoet of Dunmore Country School on the joys of sustainable gardening alongside gardening correspondent with the Irish Times and co-owner of the Irish Flower Farmer Fionnuala Fallon, Wild Food Mary( Mary Bulfin) and Rory O’Connell.
