A photograph from the exhibition by Liam Moylan.
Liam Moylan, originally from the Abbeyleix Road in Portlaoise, is founder of the Enviroclad company.
Now aged 67 years and living in Kilkenny, he recently went back to education to study photography.
His first show, Walking on Water, is exhibiting this week in Abbeyleix.

He told the Leinster Express / Laois Live more.
"I’ve been involved in photography since 1978. As my passion grew, I decided to take a more focused approach by pursuing an MA in Photography at Falmouth University in Cornwall, UK," he said.
"I’m just about to complete the MA. This current work is on the boglands of Laois and Offaly over the last two years.
“The exhibition marks my first solo show and will be touring various communities in Laois and Offaly over the next 12 months," Liam said.
He was inspired by the unique Midlands bog landscapes to explore the connected themes of memory and landscape.
"With the rapidly changing landscape of our boglands will this affect our individual or our collective memories? Can we preserve the essence of these wonderful lands in an ever-changing world?

"Photographers and other artists have the power to document their environments and tell their stories.
“As both a researcher and photographer, my mission is to encapsulate the essence of boglandsthrough the camera lens.
I strive to include a narrative that intertwines the ecological, social and evolving powers that shape these lands into the future and show the vast beauty of the Irish boglands.
“I would be grateful if visitors to the exhibition could write their memories and leave them in the box provided. Thank you and please enjoy the exhibition," he said.
